Habitat for Humanity Receives $13,000 from Capers Whole Foods Market
Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver has received $13,340 from Capers Whole Foods Market’s 5% day. Thanks to this generous support, Habitat for Humanity can continue building affordable housing in the Lower Mainland.
Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that builds simple, affordable housing for families in need. All homes are sold to qualifying families using no-profit, interest-free mortgages. Homeowners contribute 500 hours of unpaid labour, or “sweat equity” and work alongside volunteers in helping to build their own home and those of others. Habitat for Humanity is currently building a 27-townhouse community in Burnaby.
